Crystal Brackett, Church Administrator
Crystal earned a B.S. in Business from WCU and has spent her career in human resources, finance, and administration. She has also completed the Nonprofit Management Professional Certification from Duke University. Before joining the staff of FBC in 2019, she served as Director of Operations and Interim Executive Director with Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry.
Crystal has a teenage son, Wyatt, who is now a sophomore and plays basketball and is gifted in digital arts. She is engaged to a cheeky troubadour named William. They share a love for music and laughter. Their family includes his daughter, Savannah, who has a beautiful smile, a sensitive soul. She enjoys photography, singing, her toy poodles Snickers and Reesie, and yellow lab Zeus.
One of her favorite verses is 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 NIV - “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
Heather joined the staff of First Baptist Hickory in 2006. She has worked in church ministry for nearly twenty years. She is married to Shane. They have one grown daughter and a very loved and spoiled Shih Tzu named Ozzy.
She currently serves as the Children’s Ministry Director at her home church, the Favor Life Church. She sings on the praise team and also helps to lead the women’s ministry. Heather has a passion for music, building the church community, and children.
She tries to find practical ways to serve God and others through local community outreach opportunities. She has loved serving in the Lunch Buddy program in Catawba County. She and her husband have recently begun the journey of foster care.
A favorite verse of Heather’s is 1 Corinthians 16:14 - Let all that you do be done in love.
Sandy W. Costner joined the Finance department of First Baptist Church in October 2018. She is a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne University with a B.A. in Accounting and is a NC State Bar Certified Paralegal.
She attends Christ Church - Mt. View Campus and serves as a Lay Pastor. She is also a volunteer for Carolina Caring (formerly Catawba Regional Hospice), which has been a life changing experience.
Sandy serves on the board of the Council on Adolescents and has been involved with the Women’s Resource Center for years. She and her husband Chris live with their little Yorkie, Bella.
A favorite verse of Sandy’s is Ephesians 3:20 - Glory belongs to God, whose power is at work in us. By this power, He can do infinitely more than we can ever ask or imagine.
