 Our Mission... Reaching Up. Reaching In. Reaching Out.

Vision Statement

Through our shared devotion to Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and trusting God's word, we seek to be a unified fellowship inviting all people to love and follow Jesus and endeavoring to love and support our community and beyond by being like Christ in word and deed.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to worship and glorify God, to lovingly teach the truth of the scriptures and to nurture those in our fellowship to spiritual maturity so that we will minister in Christ’s love to the needs of all people and lead those who are lost to a transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.

 Our Identity

We are a body of baptized believers who share a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and acknowledge Him as Head of the church and Lord of our lives. With the Bible as our guide, and being empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to:

1)   The centrality of worship as the cornerstone of all that the church is to be and do.  We embrace worship shaped and guided by scripture, believing the multiple approaches can capture the fullness of Christian worship (Isaiah 6:1-8, John 4:23-24, Revelation 7:9-12);

2)  The study of the Bible - "All scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NRSV) The criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted is Jesus Christ;

3)   The freedom of the individual, led by God's Spirit within the family of faith, to read and interpret the Scriptures, relying on the historical understanding by the church and on the best methods of modern biblical study;

4)  The freedom of the local church under the authority of Jesus Christ to shape its own life and mission, call its own leadership, and ordain whom it perceives as gifted for ministry, male or female;

5)   The practice of Christian baptism which is immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son. and the Holy Spirit. We believe it is one act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus;

6)  The practice of the Lord's Supper as a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church and other Christians, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming;

7)  The practice of Christian Stewardship whereby all things are entrusted to us for the glory of God to minister to others with our time, talents, and material possessions. We should contribute of our means cheerfully, regularly, systematically, proportionately, and liberally for the advancement of the Redeemer's cause on earth;

8)   The larger body of Jesus Christ, expressed in various Christian traditions, and to a cooperation with believers everywhere in giving full expression to the Gospel;

9)  The servant role of leadership within the church, following the model of our Servant Lord, and to full partnership of all of God's people in mission and ministry;

10)  Theological education in congregations, colleges, and seminaries characterized by reverence for biblical authority and respect for open inquiry and responsible scholarship;

11) The proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ and the calling of God to all peoples to repentance and faith, reconciliation and hope, social and economic justice;

12) The principle of a free church in a free state and the opposition to any effort either by church or state to use the other for its own purposes.
